Getting Started

What is a discovery call and do I need to prepare for it?

+

A discovery call is a free, 30-minute conversation between you and one of our coaches. Its purpose is simple: to understand who you are, what you're hoping to achieve, what's getting in the way, and whether Elevate Uganda is the right fit for you.

You don't need to prepare anything formal. Just come as you are and be ready for an honest, open conversation. We do all the hard work of listening and guiding.

How do I know which programme is right for me?

+

That's exactly what the discovery call is for! During our initial conversation, we'll ask you questions about your goals, your current challenges, your timeline, and your budget. Based on those answers, we'll recommend the most suitable programme and explain exactly why.

If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you honestly and suggest who might be better placed to help you.

I've never worked with a coach before. Is coaching right for me?

+

Coaching is for anyone who wants to grow β€” regardless of experience or background. You don't need to have a major problem or a crisis to benefit from coaching. Many of our most impactful engagements are with high-performing professionals who simply want to reach the next level.

What coaching does require is willingness to reflect honestly, commitment to trying new approaches, and openness to being challenged. If you have those, coaching will work for you.

Our Programmes

How long does a typical coaching engagement last?

+

The duration depends on the programme and your goals:

  • Starter Programme: 3-month minimum (recommended 6 months)
  • Professional Programme: 3–6 months
  • Executive Programme: 6–12 months
  • Communication Training: 8 weeks (group programme)
  • Corporate Workshops: Half-day, full-day, or multi-day formats

Research consistently shows that meaningful coaching impact requires at least 3 months of engagement. We recommend longer for more complex or deep-rooted development needs.

How often will I meet with my coach?

+

Session frequency depends on your chosen programme. The Professional Programme includes 4 sessions per month (approximately one per week). The Starter includes 2 sessions per month. Executive programmes are bespoke and can include more frequent sessions during intensive phases.

Between sessions, you'll have email support and, in higher-tier programmes, WhatsApp access for brief check-ins and quick questions.

Are sessions in-person or virtual?

+

We offer all three formats: in-person at our Kampala office, virtual via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, and hybrid (a mix of both). The choice is entirely yours.

In-person sessions are available to clients in Kampala. Our Mbarara and Gulu offices serve clients in Western and Northern Uganda respectively. Virtual coaching is available to clients anywhere in Uganda and East Africa.

Do you offer group coaching or only individual sessions?

+

We offer both. Individual one-on-one coaching is our most personalised option. We also run group coaching cohorts β€” particularly our Communication Training Programme, which runs with a maximum of 12 participants for maximum peer interaction and learning.

For corporate clients, we can design custom group coaching programmes for leadership teams of any size.

Pricing & Payment

What are your programme fees?

+

Our individual coaching programmes start from UGX 350,000 per month for the Starter Package and UGX 680,000 per month for the Professional Package. Executive programmes are priced based on scope and duration.

Corporate and group rates are available for organisations. We also offer NGO and government discounts. Full pricing details are available on our Services page.

Are payment plans available?

+

Yes. We understand that professional development is a significant investment and we want to make it accessible. We offer monthly payment plans for all individual coaching programmes, and quarterly payment plans for corporate engagements. We accept MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, bank transfer, and major debit/credit cards.

Does my organisation / employer pay for coaching?

+

Many of our clients are sponsored by their employers. We are fully set up to invoice organisations directly and can provide a formal programme proposal, budget breakdown, and expected ROI documentation to help you make the case to your HR department or line manager.

Speak to us about our corporate engagement process and we'll handle the administrative side smoothly.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

+

We want every client to feel confident investing in our programmes. If you complete the first two sessions and feel the programme is not right for you, we offer a full refund for remaining unused sessions. We ask for 48 hours notice for session cancellations to avoid a cancellation fee.

Full terms and conditions are available on request and in our programme agreements.

Process & Expectations

Is everything I share in coaching sessions confidential?

+

Absolutely. Confidentiality is the bedrock of effective coaching. Nothing discussed in your coaching sessions will ever be shared with your employer, colleagues, family members, or any third party β€” without your explicit written consent. We operate in strict adherence to the ICF Code of Ethics on confidentiality.

If your coaching is employer-sponsored, we only report on overall progress (e.g. "the programme is on track") β€” never on the specific content of sessions.

What happens between coaching sessions?

+

Between sessions, clients are typically working on agreed "experiments" or actions β€” applying new skills, testing different approaches, or building new habits in their real professional environment. Your coach will provide any materials, reading, or reflection prompts to support your between-session work.

Clients in the Professional and Executive programmes have access to their coach for brief WhatsApp check-ins on specific challenges or wins between formal sessions.

How is success measured in a coaching engagement?

+

We work with each client to define clear, measurable goals at the start of the engagement. Progress is reviewed at the midpoint and at the end of the programme. For corporate engagements, we conduct 360Β° feedback at the start and end of the programme to measure leadership impact.

We don't just track activity (sessions attended, hours spent) β€” we track outcomes (skills demonstrated, goals achieved, changes observed by others).

Corporate & Organisational Clients

What types of organisations do you work with?

+

We work with a wide range of organisations: Ugandan SMEs, large corporations, international NGOs, government agencies, banks and financial institutions, healthcare organisations, and educational institutions. Our client portfolio includes organisations with 10 to 3,000+ employees.

What they have in common is a genuine commitment to investing in their people's development.

Can you design a custom training programme for our specific needs?

+

Absolutely β€” and this is actually where we do some of our best work. We begin every corporate engagement with a proper needs assessment to understand your organisation's specific challenges, culture, and objectives. We then design a fully customised programme β€” not an off-the-shelf solution that we rebrand for you.

Custom programmes can range from a single half-day workshop to a 12-month organisation-wide leadership development initiative.

Do you offer coaching outside of Kampala?

+

Yes. We have satellite offices in Mbarara and Gulu, and we regularly travel to conduct workshops in Entebbe, Jinja, Mbale, Fort Portal, Masaka, and other towns across Uganda. Virtual coaching is available anywhere in the country. For organisations outside Kampala, we also offer residential workshop formats where we facilitate multi-day events at your premises or at a nearby venue.
